The New York Islanders have signed Quinnipiac defenseman Mike Dalhuisen. Bobcats fans won’t have to go far to see him play, though. The Islanders will likely send him to the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Dalhuisen scored 8 goals and put up 8 assists in 42 games this season. He helped lead Quinnipiac to a No. 1 national ranking and the national title game.

Originally from the Netherlands, Dalhuisen came over to Canada as a teenager to play in the Ontario junior hockey leagues and then the USHL before landing at Quinnipiac.
