Yale forward Antoine Laganiere signs with Anaheim Ducks

From: Steve Conn, Yale Sports Publicity Director

Antoine Laganiere, the senior Yale hockey forward who helped the Bulldogs win a 2013 national championship last weekend, has agreed to terms as a free-agent with the Anaheim Ducks. It’s a two-year, entry-level contract.

The Ducks encouraged Laganiere to finish school before making a move. The club would then determine where he will go. If he goes straight to Anaheim, he would not be eligible for the post season, but he would be able to practice.

Laganiere’s 34 goals over the last two seasons were the most by any Yale player and the third-most by an ECAC Hockey skater during that span. He finished his collegiate career with 46 goals and 85 points in 122 games. One of those goals came last Thursday at Pittsburgh in the Frozen Four Semifinal against UMass Lowell.

He and the Elis knocked off No. 1 ranked Quinnipiac on Saturday at Consol Energy Center in the national title game.
