Field Hockey Team Posts Fifth-Best GPA in Division II; Earns National Academic Team Honors From NFHCA

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the sixth year in a row, the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team has been recognized with National Academic Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

The Owls posted a team cumulative grade point average of 3.40, which was the fifth best in all of Division II and tops among Northeast-10 Conference schools.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

The Owls finished the 2013 season with an appearance in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
