50 Greatest Players in UConn men’s basketball history: 50-1

KEVIN FREEMAN24. Kevin Freeman (1997-2000) 6-7, F. A rock on the 1999 NCAA championship team, Freeman played in more games (140) than any player in UConn history.

He averaged 11.2 points and 6.6 rebounds over his career, but his impact went further than per game averages. Freeman was terrific in the 1999 Big East tournament, helping the Huskies to the title and earning the Most Outstanding Player award.

He also earned All-West Region honors in the NCAA Tournament, and pulled down 15 huge rebounds in the Huskies’ Elite Eight win over Gonzaga. Freeman ranks eighth all-time in rebounding at UConn,with 913 boards.
