50 Greatest Players in UConn men’s basketball history: 50-1

MARCUS WILLIAMS23. Marcus Williams (2004-06) 6-3, G. A wizard with the basketball, Williams is the Huskies’ all-time leader in assists per game, dishing out an awesome 7.3 per over his two seasons in Storrs. (The next highest total is Doron Sheffer at 5.5).

Williams finished with a whopping 510 assists in just 70 games, tying him with Ricky Moore for sixth on the list despite having played in 54 fewer games. He also led the Huskies to the Elite Eight in 2006, although a late palming call against George Mason will forever haunt Huskies fans. (Shouldn’t have been called.)

Williams now plays for Unicaja Malaga in the Spanish League, often considered the second-best professional basketball league in the world.
