50 Greatest Players in UConn men’s basketball history: 50-1

Donny_Marshall20. Donny Marshall (1991-95) 6-7, F. Though he was sometimes overshadowed by the incredibly similar-named Donyell Marshall, Donny was a terrific player for the Huskies during their mid-nineties run to three consecutive Sweet 16 appearances.

Marshall averaged 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds in his senior season in 1995, and helped the Huskies to the Elite Eight, where they would lose in a heartbreaker to the eventual national champion UCLA.

He ranks 15th on the Huskies’ all-time scoring list, and is also a member of the Huskies’ All-Century Team. Marshall spent five years in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Jersey Nets from 1995-2003.
