50 Greatest Players in UConn men’s basketball history: 50-1

RAY ALLEN2. Ray Allen (1993-96)6-5, G. Ray-Ray is the all-time greatest player ever to come out of UConn, period. But he finishes second on our list for his work at UConn. Allen has become a 10-time All-Star, an NBA champion, and the league’s most-accomplished three-point shooter.

Allen was a decorated collegian at UConn, leading the Huskies to two Big East titles and to within the brink of the Final Four in 1995. He averaged 19 points per game in his three years with the Huskies, and ranks fourth on the all-time scoring list with 1,922 points.

He rates second on our list because he did not win a championship at UConn, while one kid from the Bronx single-handedly carried the Huskies to a title.
