Stamford’s Sarah Edwards is tearing up NHRA tracks

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The goal for Sarah Edwards of Stamford is to reach 300 miles an hour from start to finish in her dragster.

So far she’s reached 180 in just over 7 seconds. Edwards has a need for speed and she’s making a name for herself as just one of a handful of young female drivers on the National Hot Rod Association circuit.

“My favorite part of the whole run is the launch,” she said. “I like the being thrown back in your seat feeling.”

To take it to the next level, Edwards and her Queen Bee Racing Team is looking for a sponsor. She could find one as she pushes to go pro.
