Former SCSU tight end Jerome Cunningham signs with Giants

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Former Southern Connecticut State University tight end Jerome Cunningham signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants on Tuesday evening.

Cunningham had previously rookie mini-camp with the New Orleans Saints this spring and with the Detroit Lions last spring.

Cunningham was a four-year member of the squad and three-year starter at tight end for the Owls. He recorded 61 catches for 690 yards and seven touchdowns in his career. Cunningham was also previously recognized as a selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for his work in the classroom.

He joins former teammate Ike Igbinosun (Buffalo Bills) as former Owls’ players on NFL rosters.
