Just when you thought the Coolest NCAA Logo contest was over.
Oh yeah. That’s right. We’re back, baby! Like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger, you just can’t kill the coolest logo contest. It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and in our endless quest to decide which school’s logo is the greatest in all the land, we’ve moved on to NCAA Division II.
But before you think that this sequel is going to be like Air Bud 2, remember…the schools no one ever imagined would care about the D-1 contest ended up running things once it got underway. VMI was a juggernaut, winning the contest by posting more than a million votes in the different rounds since July–now that’s just ridiculous.
The Keydets walked away with the prize in Division I. Now, it’s time to decide which NCAA logo is the coolest in Division II. We started off with the Northeast-10, and now we’re moving on to the ECC.
There are some quality logos in this conference, but none tops the NYIT Bears, whose nickname isn’t unique but whose rendition of said nickname is a thing of beauty. Look at that detailed Bear head. Daemen College also has a generic nickname, but shows other schools how a wildcat is drawn. Dowling’s Golden Lions top Molloy’s regular Lions, and the University of D.C. Firebirds have an inspired, fierce-looking logo.
