Hillhouse football team gives away turkeys after practice

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–There’s nothing better during the holiday season than the spirit of giving back. You see many people with great acts of kindness this time of year.

How about this one: The Hillhouse football team, with the help of the community, got 60 turkeys to hand out at the fieldhouse.

So they finished practicing for their Thanksgiving Day game against Wilbur Cross and then opened their doors for people to come in and get a holiday meal.

“It’s teaching the kids not only about football but about life in general, being responsible to the community,” a coach at the event said.

“It’s good to know that you helped somebody out that doesn’t have food, or is starving. It’s a blessing,” a Hillhouse player said.
