Yale’s Grant Wallace, Tyler Varga earn All-American honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two Yale senior offensive stars who led the nation in a key statistical categories were honored with All-America honors by multiple organizations after leading the Bulldogs to an 8-2 record.

Grant Wallace (St. Louis, Mo.), who led the country in receiving yards per game (113) and the FCS’s leading scorer, Tyler Varga, each earned FCS second-team All-America honors. Wallace was picked by Beyond Sports Network, while Varga was a second-team pick by The Sports Network and a third-team choice by BSN.

Wallace snared a career-high 81 passes, and his 8.1 average ranked fourth in the FCS. He earned first-team All-Ivy League and All-New England accolades as well.

Varga, the Ancient Eight’s offensive player of the year (Bushnell Cup), scored 26 touchdowns, including 22 on the ground. He also took first-team Ivy and New England honors while earning the Gold Helmet from the New England Football Writers as their season MVP. Varga is currently training for the Jan. 24 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
