SCSU gets spring football practice underway

(WTNH)–Southern Connecticut State is currently going through its spring football practice. Head Coach Tom Godek also entering his second year in charge.

Last season, the Owls were 2-9, so they had lots of work to do this offseason.

Godek says the team lost several players to graduation and a few others were not asked to come back. He says despite a couple of lean years, the Owls are heading in the right direction.

Part of that has been getting input from everyone.

“I did more listening than actually preaching on that. I wanted to get their opinions on why we haven’t been consistently winning, or competitive,” Godek said. “We think that we’re on a path to success.”

“We just had to work on getting stronger, getting faster, growing together as a team,” said senior defensive lineman Kameron Tetter. “It’s worked out pretty well. These are all my brothers, my family. I can’t wait to start the season with them.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
