(WTNH)–Southern Connecticut State is currently going through its spring football practice. Head Coach Tom Godek also entering his second year in charge.
Last season, the Owls were 2-9, so they had lots of work to do this offseason.
Godek says the team lost several players to graduation and a few others were not asked to come back. He says despite a couple of lean years, the Owls are heading in the right direction.
Part of that has been getting input from everyone.
“I did more listening than actually preaching on that. I wanted to get their opinions on why we haven’t been consistently winning, or competitive,” Godek said. “We think that we’re on a path to success.”
“We just had to work on getting stronger, getting faster, growing together as a team,” said senior defensive lineman Kameron Tetter. “It’s worked out pretty well. These are all my brothers, my family. I can’t wait to start the season with them.”
