(WTNH)–If you could take a few minutes to save someone’s life, would you do it?
Well this Thursday, you’ve got the chance to do just that, with a simple swab of the cheek and about 20 minutes. For the sixth year, the Yale athletic department will hold the “Be the Donor” Drive at the Yale Commons. It’s held in honor of former Bulldogs hockey standout Mandi Schwartz, who lost her battle with leukemia four years ago.
This year, Aurora Kennedy and the women’s hockey team are doing something different to help the cause. It’s kind of like the ice bucket challenge, but this is called the whip and swab.
Go ahead, check out the video, as News 8’s John Pierson is nominated to “whip” himself.
Anne Craig and Darren Kramer better watch out.
