Connecticut Sun cruise to exhibition win over Chinese team, 86-65

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (WTNH)–The Connecticut Sun haven’t made the playoffs the last couple of years, and with top player Chiney Ogwumike on the sideline with a knee injury for most of this season, lots of new players will need to step up.

On Wednesday, the Sun gave fans a sneak peak at the 2015 team, playing an exhibtion against a team from China.

Point guard Alex Bentley is one of those players the Sun will be leaning on this year. She had 18 points and six assists in this game.

2nd-year player Alyssa Thomas had a terrific rookie season and she says she’s looking forward to an even better sophomore campaign. She had 18 points.

China was no match for the Sun on Wednesday, as the final score was 86-65.

The Sun will host Los Angeles tomorrow night in another exhibition.
