East Haven softball captures Class L title

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — East Haven and Fitch played for the Class L softball title Friday night. Fitch was the defending champion. East Haven hadn’t won the title since 1984.

Fitch got off to a good start, scoring two runs in the first. But the Yellow Jackets settled down and tied the game on an Allie Luzzi home run.

East Haven would take a 4-2 lead later the same inning, and that’s how it stayed.

After being so close last year, East Haven has the championship.
