Southington’s Kendra Friedt named USA Today All-American; Knights going for third straight title

(WTNH)–The number one team in the state and two-time defending champion Southington Lady Knights are back in the title game. They won their 69th straight game yesterday with their win over South Windsor in the Class LL semi-final. The last time the Knights lost a game was back in the 2012 title game.

Next up for Southington is rival Cheshire on Saturday afternoon.

A big honor for Southington pitcher Kendra Friedt, as she was named a USA Today All-America Honorable Mention on Thursday.

Friedt, who’s heading to Boston College next year, dominated the competition this season. She struck out sixteen batters in yesterday’s win over South Windsor. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
