108-year-old woman becomes oldest person to throw out first pitch

(WTNH)–You don’t see this every day– a 108-year-old woman on the mound at a major league baseball game.

Evelyn Jones celebrated her birthday by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Seattle Mariners game against the Angels on Saturday.

Along with celebrating her birthday, she also made history by becoming the oldest person to throw out a first pitch.

A team spokesperson said she watches every game in her room, so that other residents at her retirement community won’t bother her.
