NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–You know how everyone fills out those brackets for the NCAA Tournament? Well today, the Connecticut Open filled out its tournament bracket. It’s done a little bit differently.
The top seeds are put on top lines, with the top two overall seeds getting a pass into the second round. From there, it’s pulling players out of a hat to fill out the draw.
Agniezka Radwanska helped with the draw today over at the Connecticut Tennis Center. We have some interesting matchups, and could see Radwanska against Caroline Wozniaki in a quarterfinal match.
You may not know all the players by name, but they are the top players in the world.
Qualifying takes place all weekend long, and main draw action begins Sunday.
