(WTNH)–For the last couple of years, the UConn football team has really struggled on offense. But, for the most part, the defense has been pretty good.
Against Villanova in the season opener on Thursday night, the Huskies forced a couple of turnovers. An interception by Andrew Adams, and then a fumble recovery by sophomore linebacker Luke Carrezola were keys in the win.
Carrezola, a 6-3, 225-pound linebacker from Pennsylvania, says there’s nothing better than making a big play in front of the home crowd.
“It’s awesome, you know, it’s a big play in the game,” Carrezola said.
“I think we can get a lot better. Just focusing, reading our keys and just doing our jobs, I think we can be one of the best defenses in the country, without a doubt.”
