#7 Newtown football cruises to 5-0 mark

Ben Mason leads the way with a pair of TD's

NEWTOWN-Conn. (WTNH)–

The 7th ranked Newtown football team had little trouble running its mark to 5-0, with a 44-13 win over Bunnell of Stratford. Junior LB/TE Ben Mason led the way for the Nighthawks with an offensive TD to start the game and a 69 yard interception return for another score that put the Hawks up 32-0.

Steve George’s team also had big contributions from Justin Dunn, Ethan Carpenter and Jared Pearson. Newtown is averaging 43 points per game this season and have outscored opponents 215-34.

Newtown heads into a bye week. The Nighthawks return to action Oct 23rd when they visit Barlow
