Two in a row? UConn looks to put winning streak together against USF

(WTNH)–Can UConn football get a winning streak going? There was a definite bounce in the team’s step at practice after Saturday’s win at Central Florida.

This weekend, the South Florida Bulls make the trip up from Tampa to Rentschler Field. The Huskies hit the practice field on Tuesday to get ready for USF–which is much improved, albeit at 2-3 on the season.

South Florida beat Syracuse, 45-24 on Saturday.

Still, the Huskies are feeling good about themselves, and appeared confident heading into this weekend.

“It’s a good confidence builder, going out and putting points on the board,” said Huskies tight end Alec Bloom. “That’s our job.”

“We can get a lot better,” said cornerback Jhavon Williams. “There were a lot of plays left on the field on Saturday, and we’re coming out here every day grinding, trying to improve it.”

Kickoff is set for noon Saturday at Rentschler Field. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
