MMA star Brennan Ward gearing up for Bellator battle at Mohegan Sun

Ward closing in on welterweight title shot

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) It will be a busy week of preparation of Waterford’s Brennan Ward.
The MMA welterweight title contender steps back in the ring Friday for a night of Bellator 144 fights at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Last time he fought down the street from his hometown, he made quick work of his opponent Roger Carroll, knocking him out 2 minutes and 6 seconds into the first round. Ward said his patience paid off in that fight, the 7th KO of his career moved him one fight closer to another title shot.
A former D3 All-American wrestler, Ward says he makes a good living as an MMA fighter and he puts in a lot of work. Ward has 11 wins in his brief career. He’ll look to make it an even dozen wins on Friday October 23rd at Mohegan Sun Arena. Ward will step in to the ring against Dennis Olson, it’s one of 13 fights scheduled that night. Tickets are still available.
