Yale football to play Ivy opponent Penn, for the first time under the lights on Friday

(WTNH)–It’s hard to believe, but the Yale football team will do something on Friday night that it has never done before.

They’ll play an Ivy League game on a Friday night, under the lights. The game will be at Penn in Philadelphia. The Quakers are 2-3 on the season, but they beat Villanova on the road, and could give the Bulldogs some trouble.

Yale has been hit hard by injuries this season, and hopes to get a couple of guys back on offense this week. Head coach Tony Reno says his team is excited to battle under the lights.

“We’re definitely excited about it, by playing under the lights,” he said. “Last week against Maine was great because we had an opportunity to get some experience under the lights with punts and kickoffs. Just playing in that atmosphere, and practice this week, we go to practice twice under the lights, so that’s good.”

Kickoff on Friday night is set for 7 p.m.
