UNCASVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) Waterford’s Brennan Ward had a good weekend. So did London’s Michael “Venom” Page. Two of the most entertaining young fighters in the MMA Bellator series scored first round KO’s Friday night at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Ward and Page have become wildly popular in their sport thanks to engaging fight styles and personalities to match. With each passing win, the Irish Bad Boy and M.V.P gain momentum as welterweight title contenders, which probably means a collision course in the ring sooner than later.
“There’s enough studs in our division they can’t keep us apart forever, yeah Mike’s a good dude and a tough kid, Ward said, “when it’s time for me and him to fight, I think the whole world is going to stop and watch and me and him are going to make some good money and it will be fun”
Page appreciates Wards talent too but will let the fighting dictate their fate, “I don’t chase down anybody cause anything can happen, things change all the time, I don’t like to chase people, I just like to become a better me every time I come out.”
Ward scored his 12th career win in front of his hometown crowd, 8 have come by knockout.
Page remained unbeaten with his 9th win.
