Yale hockey finally ready to open season this weekend

(WTNH)–The college hockey season is already a couple of weeks old, but the Yale hockey team will finally get a chance to hit the ice this weekend.

The Bulldogs have been practicing for a few weeks, but haven’t played any games. In-state rival Quinnipiac, by comparison, has played six games already, while UConn has played five.

There’s one new player to watch, and if you’re a Yale hockey diehard, you can’t miss him. J.M. Piotrowski has long red hair, but the Texas native does it for a reason.

Piotrowski, who has had some relatives battle cancer, will donate his hair to “Locks of Love” at the end of the season.
