No. 1 Shelton cruises past West Haven, 40-20, advances to Class LL semifinals

(WTNH)–Shelton, the top seed in Class LL, hosted No. 8 West Haven on Tuesday night. It was a great night for some football, rain everywhere.

West Haven head coach Rich Boshea made his first playoff appearance, replacing the legendary Ed McCarthy. West Haven led, 8-7, in the first quarter, when Zach Tuskowski found Alexander Kirk, and he broke some tackles. He rolled 36 yards to the end zone, and Shelton took the lead, 13-8.

Kirk would make another big play in the second quarter, finding the end zone and giving Shelton a 20-8 lead.

Peter Hoff scored on a 58-yard touchdown run, putting the Gaels up, 26-8.
