Unbeaten Ansonia downs defending champ Capital Prep, 35-13

(WTNH)–No one in the state has more championships than Ansonia. The Chargers missed out on a title last year, but they were looking to regain their hold on Class S when they took on the defending Class S Small champion Capital Prep on Tuesday night at Jarvis Field.

The rain didn’t keep the Chargers faithful away.

Tajik Bagley went off, as you’d expect, scoring an early touchdown to put Ansonia up, 8-0. Capital Prep came back with a nice kickoff return by Jakob Vera. 73-yards to the house, and the Trailblazers were within one at 8-7.

In the end though, it was too much Bagley, as he scored the next touchdown to put Ansonia up 14-7. He also came away with a defensive score.

Ansonia won by the final score of 35-13.
