North Haven looking to make statement to rest of Connecticut in Class L title game

(WTNH)–We have four high school football championship games scheduled for Saturday. Great weather and some great teams highlight the day.

One game we’ll be watching is in Class L. The undefeated Indians of North Haven will be taking on the 10-1 Rams of New Canaan. Two of the top teams in the state.

The key to success for North Haven will be its defense, and high-powered rushing attack. Leading the charge for the Indians is running back Mike Montano. He’s been a touchdown machine for North Haven, and getting into the end zone never gets old.

“No, it doesn’t. It’s awesome to score,” Montano said. “But I couldn’t do it without my offensive line. They’re awesome. They work hard each day, they block, it’s all about the fundamentals with them.”

“I think for the most part, our offense has been working for the last couple of years, we just haven’t been able to get to this game. But I think this year, getting to that game really proves to the whole state that we can play.”
