Meet Tyrn Flowers, Sacred Heart’s other Division 1 basketball prospect

(WTNH)–The Sacred Heart boys’ basketball team has picked up right where it left off. The Hearts opened the season with a win on Monday night.

The two-time defending Class S champions beat Waterbury rival Wilby. The state’s top recruit (and Auburn commit) Mustapha Heron gets a lot of attention, and rightfully so. But keep your eye on his teammate Tyrn Flowers.

The 6-8 senior has also blossomed into a Division 1 recruit, and he’s got dreams of becoming a Husky.

“I might go to UMass or Maryland, I’m trying to go to UConn though,” Flowers said. “In four years, I’ve grown six or seven inches. I learned how to dribble the ball more, rebound. I still have a three-point shot, but I try to post up more.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
