UConn arrives in Florida for St. Petersburg Bowl practice

(WTNH)–The UConn football team has been in Florida for a couple of days, soaking up the Tampa sun while they get ready to play Marshall in the St. Petersburg Bowl.

The Huskies will hit the field early each day for about an hour and a half. UConn’s last bowl win came in 2010, when they beat South Carolina in the PapaJohns.com Bowl.

They’re trying for business and pleasure in sunny Florida.

“It needs to be fun,” head coach Bob Diaco said. “You need to be passionate and love what you do, so there’s an amount of work that goes into that. But beyond that, we don’t want it to be a grind. It should be fun, it should be an awesome time. They have to want to do it again.

The 6-6 Huskies take on 9-3 Marshall on Dec. 26. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
