Twelve Connecticut players nominated for McDonald’s All-American Game

(WTNH)–Twelve Connecticut players have been nominated for the 2016 McDonald’s High School All-American basketball game.

Amity High’s Chris Winkel, Green Farms Academy’s Dom Cristiano, Putnam Science Academy’s Mamadou Diarra, South Kent’s Matthew Moyer, Suffield’s Miye Oni and Sacred Heart’s Mustapha Heron made the list on the boys’ side.

Heron’s Sacred Heart squad is currently ranked No. 1 in the state. He’s headed to Auburn as a highly-rated recruit next season. Putnam Science Academy big man Mamadou Diarra will play for UConn next season, while Amity’s Chris Winkel will play baseball for the Huskies.
