Will Jeff Bagwell make the Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday?

(WTNH)–Jeff Bagwell is a four-time All-Star, MVP award winner, and arguably the greatest player in Houston Astros history. He’s a .297 career hitter, has driven in 1,529 RBI, and hit 449 home runs.

He’s the pride of Killingworth, Connecticut, the prize in perhaps the most lopsided trade in MLB history,

But is he a Hall of Famer?

Bagwell will learn his Cooperstown fate on Wednesday, as the Baseball Hall of Fame will release the names of the players who’ve made the cut.

Mariners great Ken Griffey Jr. is a lock, and many around the sport believe Mike Piazza will make the cut on Wednesday, as well.

Ryan Thibodeaux’s Hall of Fame tracker, Bagwell and Tim Raines have received 80% of the vote so far, meaning they both could make Hall of Fame history.

Bagwell is in his sixth year of eligibility and was named on 58% of ballots last year. The increase would be a record turnaround.
