The Quinnipiac University hockey teams are having great seasons this year thanks to chemistry and teamwork. The men’s team is No. 1 in the nation, and the women are No. 3.
But in between periods, there’s another team literlly using chemistry on the ice.
“There’s a huge amount of balance between skill a lot of science,” said Quinnipiac ice technician Glen Gerrity. “There’s a lot of chemistry behind it, taking depths, readings. If anything happens on the ice, we take care of it immediately.”
“It’s instant gratification, knowing that in 20 minutes time, we’re making magic happen again. That’s basically what it’s like, taking a dirty sheet of ice and making it clean,” he said. “It’s awesome.”
