(WTNH)–Ivy League basketball season is finally here, and the Yale Bulldogs can’t wait. They’re the preseason pick to win the conference, after coming within two points of doing so last season.
Yale finished up the nonconference season at 9-5, as compared to other conference contenders Princeton (10-4), Columbia (11-6) and Harvard (7-8).
Head coach James Jones had his team run through practice on Tuesday morning. The seniors have one more crack at winning it all, and reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1962.
The Elis are looking at it like a series of 14 one-game tournaments.
“Our freshman year, we came in third. Sophomore year we came in second,” said guard Jack Montague. “Last year, of course, we tied for first place and now of course we hope that we can win the Ivy League championship, and we think we can.”
Yale will play at Brown in Providence at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
