West Haven hockey rivals come together for the Caliendo Family

Green Knights beat Westies 8-0

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) For a day, a pair of high school hockey rivals put aside their differences on the ice for a greater cause. The West Haven Blue Devils honored Notre Dame of West Haven hockey player Doug Caliendo and his family prior to the puck drop on Saturday at Bennett Rink. The senior defenseman lost his dad to colon cancer on Wednesday morning, that afternoon Caliendo scored the game winning goal in overtime. Both West Haven schools sold Strong 4 Lou t-shirts with all proceeds going to the Caliendo family to help defer medical costs..

The Green Knights went on to win the game 8-0.
