STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut is pleased to announce that former Husky men’s basketball great Caron Butler will be inducted into the Huskies of Honor on Saturday, February 13 when the UConn men’s basketball team hosts Tulsa at 8:00 pm at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs.

Butler earned All-American honors and was the BIG EAST Player of the Year and Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2001-02, leading the Huskies to the NCAA Elite Eight. After that season, Butler was an NBA Draft lottery selection with the 10th pick by the Miami Heat. He is a two-time NBA All-Star and is in his 14th season in the NBA, currently as a member of the Sacramento Kings.

Butler will become the 24th member of the Men’s Basketball Huskies of Honor, which recognizes the best of the best in UConn history, for their accomplishments at UConn and beyond. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at halftime of Saturday’s game.
