Mic’d up: Inside a UConn baseball practice with coach Jim Penders

(WTNH)–The UConn baseball team is getting ready to start the 2016 season. The Huskies get about three weeks of mostly indoor practice.

We mic’d up UConn head coach Jim Penders as the Huskies prepared for the upcoming season inside the Werth Family Football Complex in Storrs.

“We’ve got a couple of different things that we try to do inside. We want to give them quality reps, where there’s not a lot of pressure on them, just focus on the technique,” said Penders. “And then there’s always a segment of practice where we try to ramp up and make it as game-like as possible. It’s never quite the same as having the dirt and the scoreboard on.”
