Outstanding penalty kill helps make Yale hockey national title contender

Yale hockey knows about national championships. The Bulldogs have the look of a contender once again this season, and one of the great things Keith Allain’s guys are doing this season is killing penalties.

The Elis have killed nearly 94 percent of their penalties this year, which ranks No. 1 in the country.

“I think it starts with a relentless mentality. If we’re confident on the penalty kill, success will translate.”

“You need to disrupt the power play. And a lot of times you do it with a plan, but you also do it with energy and work and commitment,” Keith Allaini said. “And that’s what we’re doing right now.”

Yale has won seven straight games.
