Quinnipiac women’s hockey racking up the ‘firsts’ in special season

(WTNH)–The Quinnipiac women’s hockey team has posted a lot of firsts this year. Last weekend, the Bobcats won their first-ever ECAC title, which earned them the top seed in this weekend’s conference tournament.

First-year head coach Cassie Turner inherited a team on the rise, and has taken it to new heights.

The ‘Cats built confidence along the way, doing things like beating Harvard on the road. A 26-win team, Quinnipiac is ranked No. 4 in the country.

Turner says she had an idea that this could be a special year.

The Bobcats and RPI drop the puck at 2 p.m. Friday in Hamden. It’s a best-of-3 series.
