(WTNH)–The leaders of this UConn women’s basketball team are obvious. The All-American trio of Breanna Stewart, Moriah Jefferson and Morgan Tuck command respect for what they’ve accomplished.

But don’t look past the impact of sophomore guard Kia Nurse. She’ll inherit the leadership role next season. A veteran of the Canadian national team, Nurse is wise beyond her years. Sort of.

“I’m just trying to learn as much as I can from [Breanna, Moriah and Morgan]. They each have their own leadership traits,” Nurse said. “And they work really well off of each other.”

“For my personally, I think Kia has been a huge help for me this year,” said freshman Katie Lou Samuelson. “Especially since we got to the tournament, she’s helped me get through things.”
