(WTNH)–There are less than three weeks until the NFL Draft, and players around the country are trying to impress scouts and get a look at the next level.
One of those guys is Yale’s record-setting quarterback Morgan Roberts. The Charlotte, N.C. native has already graduated from Yale, and spent most of his winter training for a chance.
Roberts worked out for several NFL scouts this week in North Branford. He has some individual meetings scheduled with teams. The predraft workouts were enough to make even a guy with an Ivy League degree sweat.
“It’s a super stressful environment, you’ve got coaches down there with a clipboard, writing down all your numbers and you dont know what your numbers are,” Roberts said. “But it’s fun to be out here. I have a lot of my teammates supporting me, and that’s meant a lot.”
Despite the opportunities that come with a Yale degree, Roberts has made it clear that he wants to play professionally, even if it’s not in the NFL.
“If my NFL dreams don’t come true, then maybe my CFL dreams will come true,” he said. “If not, then it’s back to the drawing board.”
