(WTNH)–The Yale football team went back to work this week, and twelve spring practices are scheduled for the next couple of weeks.
The Bulldogs are trying to get bigger and stronger this offseason. Practice No. 3 of this spring was held early on Tuseday. Some heavy rain didn’t slow the up-tempo pace.
Last season, Yale was decimated by injuries. A new strength program is in place, and head coach Tony Reno is happy with his team’s progress.
“It’s going well. We have position battles everywhere, both sides of the ball, which is really good,” Reno said. “The quarterback battle with Morgan Roberts being gone, and three really good running backs.”
“The guys are getting their feedback, getting back into the system. We’ve had a good offseason. We gained a lot of weight, we got a lot stronger, but now we have to get back on the field and do this end of it.”
Yale’s annual Blue-White spring game is set for April 23 at the Bowl.
