Quinnipiac’s Brian Feldman nominated for National Lacrosse Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Sophomore attack Brian Feldman (Canandaigua, N.Y.) is one of eight candidates for the StringKing National Player of the Week from Inside Lacrosse for games ending April 10.

Feldman earned his way on to the ballot after shattering his previous career high with eight points on five goals and three assists in a snowy 14-4 win over Detroit on Sunday. He matched his previous high of five goals, which he had accomplished on two occasions (including in last year’s MAAC semifinals against Detroit) and set a new personal best with three assists. He had a hand in over half of Quinnipiac’s goals on the day, while helping the Bobcats stay alone in first place in the MAAC at 3-0 in league play.

If Feldman wins the honor, it will mark back-to-back National Player of the Week awards for the Bobcats. Sophomore faceoff specialist Will Vitelli (Milford, Conn.) earned the award last week after going a perfect 19-for-19 on faceoffs in an 8-7 overtime win over Marist, which gave Quinnipiac sole possession of first place in the MAAC.
