Defending champion East Haven softball looks ready for a repeat

(WTNH)–The East Haven softball team has picked up right where it left off last year. The defending Class L champions are undefeated to start 2016.

The 5-0 Yellowjackets are ripping the ball, averaging 12 runs per game. Head coach Ed Crisafi thought his team had a chance a year ago to win its first state title since 1984. Getting a taste of the title has made East Haven hungry for a repeat.

“We always practice hard. Just because we won last year that doesn’t mean we just stop practicing hard,” said Laura Anderson. “We still have to practice like we want it.”

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Friday at Jonthan Law. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
