(WTNH)–UConn legend and current University of Hartford head coach Jen Rizzotti might soon be on her way to George Washington, according to a report from the Hartford Courant.
The Courant’s Mike Anthony reported Thursday that Rizzotti has interviewed for the head coaching job at GW, and has begun contract negotiations towards accepting the position.
The 41-year-old New Fairfield native has spent 17 seasons at Hartford, amassing a 305-181 record, and leading the Hawks to five America East championships and six appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
As a player at UConn, Rizzotti led the Huskies to the 1995 national championship, and was named National Player of the Year in 1996.
Rizzotti’s husband Bill Sullivan is an assistant on her staff at Hartford.
