UConn star Earl Kelley among those inducted into Wilbur Cross Hall of Fame

(WTNH)–It was a long road to the Wilbur Cross Hall of Fame, but Earl Kelley finally got the call. And he wasn’t alone. A few other Cross greats were inducted on Thursday night.

Inductees included track and field standout Cheryl Brantle, who qualified for the ’92 and ’96 Olympic trials in the long jump, and Terry Pollard, who is also in the New Haven Gridiron Club Hall of Fame.

Kelley was a stud on the court, winning three state titles before heading to play college ball at UConn, where he also starred. He said he knew something special was happening while he was at Cross.

“I’m grategul. Obviously coach Salibruy with the program the former players coming back it was just something that you treasure being a part of,” he said.

In all seven former Cross stars were inducted.
