Altanta Dream make Holmes the first CT native to be drafted in 1st round of WNBA Draft

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)- Bria Holmes has come home to New Haven to celebrate with family and friends. On Thursday night, the former Hillhouse High All-American became the first Connecticut native taken in the first round of the WNBA draft. Holmes was selected 11th overall by the Atlanta Dream. She spent the last 4 years playing for West Virginia University where she was a 3 time Big 12 selection for the Mountainners.

Holmes said being drafted was her dream since she was 5. She stopped by the SportzEdge studio to talk about the WNBA, how much she’s grown and her recent engagement.
