(WTNH)–Record-setting former Western Connecticut State running back Octavias McKoy is still chasing down his dream, an effort that has already taken him from Stratford to Kansas to Arizona to Germany.

McKoy, who set the NCAA record for rushing yards in a single game when he scampered for a ridiculous 455 against Worcester State in 2013, will attend a minicamp with the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks later this week.

If he impresses in Canada, he’ll have a chance to make the Redblacks roster come fall. Ottawa reached the CFL championship game (Grey Cup) last season, falling to the Edmonton Eskimos, 26-20.

McKoy spent last season in a German league, where he led the country in all-purpose yards (301 per game) and scored 18 touchdowns in just six games. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
