(WTNH)–Kevin Ollie keeps adding great high school players to his incoming recruiting class. On Thursday, he let one go.
Four-star center Zach Brown, a seven-footer from Miami, will not be heading to UConn as part of Ollie’s 2017 class, according to Scout Hoops’ Evan Daniels. The big man, who is ranked as the 25th-best prospect in the class by ESPN, announced his commitment to the Huskies on January 20, but things went south from there. Literally.
Brown transferred to Putnam Science Academy shortly thereafter, but was reportedly involved in a fight there and was asked to leave the school.
Fellow Huskies commit Mamadou Diarra and target Hamidou Diallo were playing at Putnam Science Academy at the time.
Brown also had offers from Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Miami, NC State, Ohio State and UCLA, among others.
